In August, Ukraine exported 27.8 thousand tons of pig iron, down by 74% MoM. In monetary terms exports dropped by 75.1%, to $9.41 million.

According to the State Customs Service, compared with August 2022 exports fell by 72.3% and by 81.8% YoY respectively.

This was the lowest level since April 2022, when Ukraine almost suspended manufacture due to the Russian invasion.

In January-August, Ukraine exported 934.2 thousand tons of pig iron for $356.3 million, up by 6.5% YoY, but down by 25.1% respectively.

The main importer was Poland with 63.1%, followed by Spain with 20.7% and the Czech Republic with 7%. (Ukrainian metal)
