Since the start of the full-scale war, Centravis has reoriented to using imported billets.

Before the war, Centravis used to purchase 70-80% of billets from Dneprospetsstal (DSS). Now almost 70% of billets used by the company come from Europe and Asia. And around 30% are of Ukrainian make, but not only of Dneprospetsstal.

According to the company CEO Yuri Atanasov, DSS’s main problem is its Russian shareholders.

“It would be better for the authorities to find some solution. Maybe, nationalization, so that it’s possible to trade with DSS,” he said. “Now the operation of the enterprise is blocked. Companies that have worked with it do not receive VAT reimbursements. Neither do we. Our lawyers have already filed a claim. And we have won the first round. But all this is time and efforts. Instead of supporting the exporter, or at least not interfering, artificial barriers are created”. (Ukrainian metal)
