Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC) has commissioned a new $200-million plant, which has a capacity to process 15 million tons of technogenic waste per annum and produce more than 7 tons of gold.

Located in the Tamdyn district, the new facility is set to operate until 2040.

It employs more than 1,100 people.

NMMC, in total, eyes the implementation of 27 projects worth $3.4 billion until 2026.

Before Uzbekistan gained its independence in 1991, the NMMC had only two plants. The volume of ore processing over the years has increased 3-fold, while the volume of production expanded 2-fold. (Uzreport/Ukrainian metal)
