Interpipe is forced to leave the US pipes market with the introduction of new limitations on exports.
In the past several months, USA has announced a new 23.75% duty on Ukrainian linear pipes and an intention to slap a 30.19% duty on OCTG pipes in addition to the 25% customs duty already in force.
Thus, the combined duty on Ukrainian pipes could reach 50%.
This could force the company out of the US market and result in the firing of several thousand of employees and the decrease in tax payments to state and local budgets.
According to Interpipe, the share of Ukrainian pipes on American market is less than 1% and in the OCTG segment – below 0.5%, which cannot be considered a threat to the US economic safety. (Ukrainian metal)
