The Ministry of Energy and Environment Protection has held a meeting with ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih.
“The deputy ministers Roman Abramovsky and Konstantin Chizhik have met with the company management to discuss investment plans and environment protection obligations. Attention was drawn to the necessity to shut down open-hearth manufacture in March and comply with requirements to shut down the blast furnace No. 7 until the end of the year”, the ministry press-service reported.
According to the company CEO Mauro Longobardo, in September AMKR will start constructing a pelletizing factory with the capacity of 5 million tons of pellets per year. The technique produces less CO, SOx, NOx and dust emissions. (Ukrainian metal)
