Karelsky Okatysh together with the coke-sinter-blast furnace manufacture of Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works developed a new product – crushed iron ore pellet.
A trial batch was produced in October 2019, and all in all last year the company sold over 330 thousand tons of such pellets.
The pellets are used to produce sinter at CherMK.
The material has replaced iron ore concentrate, the high moisture of which prevented it from being shipped in winter. As a result, sinter manufacture increased from 12.5 thousand tons to 15 thousand tons per day. (Ukrainian metal)
