Norilsk Nickel and Atomflot have concluded a long-term agreement on the icebreaker fleet services.

The agreement has been concluded until 2027 with a possible prolongation until 2029.

The document, which is an addendum to the current agreement signed in 2014, provides for the services of making and maintaining channels in the ice fringe of the Yenisey River from the Yenisey Bay to the port of Dudinka, as well as the icebreaking assistance to vessels going to or from the port.

Nornickel is one of the first and the largest customers of the Russian nuclear fleet. In almost 60 years, since 1960, the company has transported over 40 million tons of cargo. At present average annual amount of transportation along the Northern Sea Route is 1.3 million tons, mostly metal products. (Ukrainian metal)
