Metalloinvest is expected to invest 64 billion rubles in the construction and modernization of its mining and processing works’ manufacturing capacities until the end of 2024.

Construction of a crushing and conveyer complex is underway at the Mikhailovsky GOK, and the second stage of the project has already begun (the construction of new concentrate enrichment premises).

In 2022 MGOK is expected to produce 16.9 million tons of high-quality concentrate, including 8.8 million tons of floatation concentrate with iron content of 70%.

Floatation technique will be implemented at the Lebedinsky GOK processing factory to improve concentrate quality. The floatation will help decrease silica content in the concentrate from 2.5-3% to 1.2%. Iron content in pellets will grow from 66% to 67.5%, while that of silica will drop from 3% to 1.65%. Iron content in HBI will increase from 90% to 92%, while silica will fall from 3.75% to 2.2%. The decision on the issue will be taken in 2020.

Reconstruction of the pelletizing machines has started at the pelletizing factory. As a result their efficiency will grow by 13%, while gas and electricity consumption will fall by 12%. (Ukrainian metal)
