Kinross Gold Corp has announced the lack of interest in concluding new deals in Russia.

In July the company bought the Chulbatkan gold ore project from N-Mining for $283 million with $170 million to be paid in shares.

In the past few years Kinross has been offered several major assets in Russia, but the company does not want to spend too much.

Sales in Russia accounted for one fifth of Kinross income.

Since 1995 the company has invested $3.5 billion having become the largest foreign investor in gold sphere and the third largest gold extractor after Polyus and Polymetal International Plc.

In 2018 Kinross mined 15.44 tons of gold out of the overall Russian output of 75 tons. (Ukrainian metal)
