A capital repair of one of the two electric arc furnaces is drawing to an end at the metal shop of the Norilsk Nickel Copper Works.
The capacity of the furnace is 1.5 tons.
Investments in the project amount to 16.8 million rubles.
After the repair the furnace will be operating in the direct current mode. Its advantage is the decrease in precious metals losses during manufacture. With the switch of the furnace from the alternating current to the direct current the company will be able to decrease precious metals losses to 600 kg per year.
