In July Russia imported 79 thousand tons of chromium ore and concentrate, up by 4% MoM and by 14.3% YoY.

Most of the ore was imported from Kazakhstan. But deliveries have been falling for several months: April – 82.9 thousand tons, May – 77.1 thousand tons, June – 69.8 thousand tons and July – 61.5 thousand tons.

At the same time imports from South Africa grew 2.5-fold, to 5.2 thousand tons and from Turkey – 3-fold, to 12.5 thousand tons.

In 7 months imports totaled 565.6 thousand tons, up by 2.8% YoY.

In monetary terms since the start of the year the imports have decreased by 16.6%.

Import prices in July grew by 5%, to $171 per ton. (Ukrainian metal)
