In January-August Almalyk Mining and Processing Works manufactured 11.2 trillion sums worth of products, up by 8.1% from the target.

Exports reached $578.4 million.

With the help of a development program the company plans to increase its ore output more than 3-fold, to 100 million tons. Non-ferrous and precious metals output will grow 2-fold, and over 6 thousand new jobs will be created, driving the total number to 11 thousand.

The total cost of the program exceeds $3.35 billion. It includes reconstruction of zinc plant and the copper-smelting plant with the increase of capacities, as well as the construction of mines.

All this is planned to have been done by 2023. (Ukrainian metal)
