In January-August Ukraine exported 37.082 thousand tons of ferrous metals scrap, down 8.1-fold YoY, valued at $10.259 million, down 9.6-fold.
In particular, in August Ukraine exported 155 tons of scrap, in July – 204 tons, in June – 208 tons, in May – 8.086 thousand tons, in April – 8.791 thousand tons, in March – 8.246 thousand tons, in February – 8.252 thousand tons and in January – 3.140 thousand tons.
At the same time imports in 8 months grew by 50.1% YoY, to 42.128 thousand tons valued at $24.59 million, down by 1.1%.
The main suppliers were Turkey (53.11%), Russia (37.82%) and the Netherlands (2.71%).
Scrap was mostly exported to Turkey (86.38%), the Netherlands (6.43%) and Germany (5.04%).
In January-August Ukraine also imported 1.462 thousand tons of directly reduced iron from Russia valued at $478 thousand, as opposed to 1.329 thousand tons valued at $440 thousand in January-August 2018. (Ukrainian metal)
