The coal companies that received an invitation to an investor consortium for a dry bulk area in the port of Taman in the Krasnodar region have not responded, Transport Minister Yevgeny Ditrikh declared on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum on September 5.

“This is a delicate issue connected with prices. The colleagues see no opportunity today to sell coal to the West at prices at which the project would pay back. The coal companies have taken a pause, they are not interested in this in today’s situation,” Ditrikh said, adding that negotiations with other investors continued.

The investor pool of the project can be changed, Ditrikh said, adding that grain transshipment facilities could be added. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
