For the sixth year in a row Russia has been retaining the third position in the world ranking of gold extraction, following China and Australia.
In 2018 Russia extracted 329.9 tons of gold, up by 3.7% YoY.
The leading positions in Russia are held by Krasnoyarsk and Magadan regions, as well as the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Magadan region last year extracted 37.9 tons of gold, and Yakutia – 29.2 tons. (Ukrainian metal)
