Employees of Georgian Steel LLC, created on the basis of the Rustavi Iron and Steel Works, have started striking demanding their wages to be increased and labor conditions improved.
According to them, the wage level has not been changed for 12 years, with the average salary being 570 lari ($206).
The strikers demand their wages to be increased to 1000 lari ($366) and their working day to be decreased to 8 hours.
The company management promised to discuss their claims, at the same time saying that none was forced to come to work. (Ukrainian metal)
