Starting from this week, new vehicle KrAZ-63221 that will deliver ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih miners to workplaces at open pits and remote dumps has been released on the roads. In total, 5 such vehicles are used for these purposes in Mining Department, and the entire fleet of crew change vehicles at the plant amounts to 26 pieces.

The new vehicle will replace the previous one, which has been in operation for 11 years. The crew change vehicle is designed for 29 passengers; each seat is equipped with a seat belt. It envisages a double heating system: one operates from the engine, and the other is autonomous and allows maintaining comfortable temperature when the engine is off. The vehicle is all-wheel drive that allows it to remain manageable and maneuverable on icy roads and in lack of roads conditions.

In order to deliver the crew to the remote shops, 22 passenger buses are also used at the plant. Last year ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih purchased a passenger bus MAZ-107485В. One more bus is planned to be purchased this year.

Besides, to improve the working conditions of employees, the plant purchases other vehicles. In particular, to provide miners with quality potable water in time, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has purchased a new truck tank. It will deliver water to those facilities where there is no centralized water supply, including open pits Nos. 2 and 3. The vehicle is notable for increased maneuverability. The truck tank is made of stainless steel, and fully complies with sanitary standards. There is a filling indicator. Additional thermal insulation will allow avoiding water freezing, even in conditions of severe frost in winter period. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
