Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Combine intends to start a large-scale project to reconstruct its sintering factory to decrease air pollution.
“We are starting designing gas-purification systems. We will need 2-3 years to complete the project. We are not the pioneers in the field. We have an example – Zaporizhstal. They were able to decrease dust emission by 90% and sulfur oxide by 50%. We want to reach similar results”, the company CEO Alexander Podkorytov said.
At present the 45-days repair of the sintering machine No. 8 is drawing to an end. The commissioning is scheduled for January 31. (Ukrainian metal)
