In 2018 Tomsk-based Sibcable processed some 17.5 thousand tons of metal, on par with the previous year.
In particular, the plant processed almost 15 thousand tons of copper and 2.5 thousand tons of aluminum wire rod, the main raw materials in the cable manufacture.
Copper is preferred over aluminum because of its higher thermal and electricity conductivity. (Ukrainian metal)
