The Russian Finance Ministry is in dialogue with the U.S. Department of Treasury and hopes that the sanctions against aluminum producer RUSAL will be abolished in 2019, Minister Anton Siluanov declared on December 25.

“The key point here is that the proposals formed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) have been fulfilled. The U.S. Department of Treasury, based on this, has submitted a corresponding proposal to the Congress. We hope that these mutual liabilities will be fulfilled and the company will be able to quit the sanctions regime next year,” Siluanov said. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
