In 2018 Metinvest gave 150 million UAH for social projects in Mariupol, investing over 1.4 billion UAH in environment protection.
The city health industry received over 16 million UAH, and education – some 20 million. The group also helped repair the Theater Square and construct a fountain, spending 35 million UAH.
Investment in environment protection grew 2.3-fold in 2018. The main projects were the reconstruction of the sinter factory at Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and capital repairs of its blast furnaces Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Mariupol Ilyich and Azovstal received 12.5 billion UAH for development. The main projects are construction of a continuous casting machine No. 4 (4 billion UAH) and reconstruction of the rolling mill-1700 (2.3 billion UAH) at Mariupol Ilyich and reconstruction of the blast furnace No. 3 (2.5 billion UAH) at Azovstal.
