The delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany has visited PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the biggest mining and metallurgical company of Ukraine. The visit took place on October 26 as a part of business visit to Ukraine of the representatives of German industrial companies united by non-government organization German Eastern Business Association.
At the plant the guests met with Tiwari Vinay, Chief Technology and Environment Officer, who presented the main investment projects of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih. After that, German delegation visited the site and observed the operation of blast furnace No. 9, which is the biggest at the plant.
Ute Kochlowski-Kadjaia, General Director of German Eastern Business Association: “Our business association works with 29 countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Southern Caucasus. We accompany German business and support it when entering East European market and in return, we help the companies from these countries to accustom on the market of the Federal Republic of Germany. The list of members of our association includes 400 companies – from big group companies to small business. Our business visit to Ukraine confirms that German business is really interested to work in this country and is looking for partners. In general, German economy is based on medium business, and most of the companies here today and representing medium business. Its peculiarities are high technology, quality, specific solutions, which can be easily integrated in production process. PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has wide range of production and needs and we suppose that partnership with German business will be beneficial for both parties. From our side, we are very interested in development of sustainable commercial relations with mining and metallurgical companies of Ukraine”.
Tiwari Vinay, Chief Technology and Environment Officer, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “After ArcelorMittal Group took over the plant in Kriviy Rih, it actively invested in its development – in new technologies, reconstruction and repair of facilities. We focus on strategic projects in order to upgrade significantly production facilities of the plant. From 2006 to 2017, the investments amounted to $4.5 billion (CAPEX + OPEX). This year, the company will invest $400 million. In 2019-2022 we plan to invest another $1.5 billion to continue implementation of our large-scale investment program. We are glad to greet the representatives of the delegation and Kriviy Rih city council at our plant.
