In September Russia produced 5.91 million tons of steel, down by 1.3% YoY (6.106 million tons in August). In 9 months the output grew by 1.8% YoY, to 54.288 million tons.

Ukraine, though no longer a part of CIS, decreased steel output by 7.6% YoY in September, to 1.787 million tons (17.86 million tons in August). In January-September steel manufacture increased by 0.8%, to 15.779 million tons.

Kazakhstan in September produced 365 thousand tons of steel, up by 0.8% (375 thousand tons), and 3.433 million tons in 9 months, up by 0.4%.

In Belarus steel output was 215 thousand tons, up by 0.5% YoY (220 thousand tons), and 1.802 million tons, up by 6.8%.

In September Uzbekistan produced 60 thousand tons of steel, up by 1.7% YoY (62 thousand tons), and in 9 months increased output by 0.8%, to 501 thousand tons.

Moldova in September manufactured 50 thousand tons of steel, down by 10.7% YoY (51 thousand tons), and 418 thousand tons in 9 months, up by 40.3%.

All in all, in September CIS countries produced 8.387 million tons of steel, down by 2.6% YoY (8.6 million tons in August). In January-September steel output totaled 76.221 million tons, up by 1.8% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
