U.K.-based mining giant Evraz, which operates mainly in Russia, plans to invest $480 million in construction of a line for production of 100-meter rails with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons at its U.S. site in the city of Pueblo.
The company may launch the production line in October-December 2021. Currently, the Pueblo facility produces 25-meter rails, and annual production capacity stands at 530,000 tons.
Evraz may also invest $215 million in upgrading rail production capacities at its Evraz Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (Evraz NTMK) in 2019-2021, including an increase of capacity by 280,000 tons. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
