Tajikistan needs some $500 thousand to complete the prospecting works at the Kurgovad deposit.
The deposit has large resources of alumina, the main raw material for the manufacture of aluminum.
The project aims among other thing at “solving current economic and social issues of development of Tajikistan, mastering the manufacture of competitive products to replace imported ones, and providing for the manufacturing independence of the Tajikistan Aluminum Company”.
The country intends to receive some 4.6 million somoni ($500 thousand) as a preferential loan to finish the project. (Ukrainian metal)
