In January-July the Belarus Iron and Steel Works (BMZ trademark) increased the export of products by 35% YoY, the company’s press service reported.
In January-July BMZ exported 1.14 million tons of metal products worth more than $724 million. The export growth made up 135% from the same period in 2017 in money terms and 105.5% in volume terms. The profitability of sales reached 9.7%.
In July the Belarus Iron and Steel Works exported 182,000 tons of metal products worth over $112 million. The export growth made up 160% YoY in money terms and 140% in volume terms.
In January-July BMZ sold its products to 62 countries.
“The company has significantly expanded the geography of its exports through resuming shipment to the markets where no products had been supplied within the last three years and more. This year the plant has resumed its supplies to ten countries, with the total deliveries exceeding $16 million. Supplies to four of them: Portugal, Cameroon, Algeria and Chad were relaunched in July,” the company said.
In January-July the Belarus Iron and Steel Works produced 1.37 million tons of steel, 1.2 million tons of rolled products, 87,800 tons of seamless pipes and 241,000 tons of metal cord, bronzed wire and other wire cable products. (BelTA/Ukrainian metal)
