The Department of ecology of Karaganda region has sued ArcelorMittal Temirtau for violation of the environment-protection legislation.
The unscheduled inspection of the works revealed a number of violations. In particular, the company air pollution exceeded the allowed limits.
The total damage to the environment is estimated at 1.395 billion tenge ($4 million). (Ukrainian metal)
