In January-June Tajikistan produced 46.7 thousand tons of aluminum valued at $99.5 million, down from 49.5 thousand tons last year.
The output decrease in the past 6-7 years has to do with the drop of aluminum prices on world markets.
Last year world markets were selling primary aluminum for $1892 per ton, now the price is $2199. Thus, this year TALCO intends to produce over 149 thousand tons of aluminum.
Next year the output could reach 245.5 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
