Late on July 31 the newly equipped gas-purifying unit of the sinter factory in Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works went up in flames.
This is not the first time when the Termokimik filters went out of operation. Last week 2 more filters stopped operation.
The fire was the result of fixing the operation of the gas-purifying equipment at the sinter machines Nos. 7, 8 and 9.
The first stage of the gas-purification at the sinter factory was put into operation in trial mode at the three machines in April. By late 2020 all 12 sinter machines will have been equipped with such units. Investments total $220 million. (Ukrainian metal)
