PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will provide for realization of social projects that will enable to improve Kriviy Rih city environment. Paramjit Kahlon, the company’s CEO, and Yuriy Vilkul, Kriviy Rih mayor, signed social partnership agreement.
Yuriy Vilkul: “PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is a core company of the city. It is highly important that besides performance gains, the company is committed to contributing to the city, helping make it better, more comfortable and cozy. I am sure, by the end of this year, the residents will have seen clear results of our cooperation for the sake of the city improvement”.
Paramjit Kahlon: “PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih makes great contribution to the economy of Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk region and Kriviy Rih being one of the major taxpayers in Ukraine. Over 12 years, we have paid more than 42 billion UAH to the country and city budgets, including 7.7 billion in 2017. However, apart from payments to the budget required by the Law, we aim to implement certain projects for the city and the residents’ life quality improvement. From our side, it is a good old tradition to contribute to development of the city that we stick to this year as well”.
In 2018, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will allocate money to the following social initiatives:
– Renovation of the frontages of buildings from 95th Square’s roundabout to Metallurg Palace of Culture – with stuccoing, painting of walls and replacement of rain water pipes;
– Reconstruction of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Park with complete replacement of flagstone on the central walkway along Metallurg avenue, greening, installing of new benches and illumination;
– Repair of overbridge No. 5.
PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will allocate 21.5 million UAH to implementation of these projects as per signed agreement. In addition, the company is planning a range of other social projects in the matter of education and health care in 2018. The company will purchase the equipment for Cancer Center and renovate burn unit of the city hospital No. 2. Moreover, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is setting up a new educational project for the residents’ children. 1 thousand will take free English and IT courses. The company is covering all costs. Therefore, this year PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will invest 30 million UAH in the city development in total. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
