OEMK, a part of Metalloinvest, has opened a warehouse for the storage and shipment of finished products. This will enable OEMK to increase production of rolled steel products, including high quality rolled steel (SBQ), by 60,000 tons per year.

The company invested approximately 320 million rubles in the construction of the warehouse. The building consists of two aisles 168 m long and 30 m wide, with an organized unloading bay from a railway track platform in one of the aisles. The warehouse has capacity to store up to 9,500 tons of rolled steel at any time until shipment to clients.

Before the launch of the warehouse, shipment of the finished products only took place from OEMK’s rolling mills and finishing plant. Due to a lack of space, the amount of rolled steel that could be stored was limited.

Andrey Ugarov, First Deputy CEO, COO of Management Company Metalloinvest, commented: “The launch of the warehouse enables OEMK to increase production of steel products at Rolling Mill 350 and the finishing plant, avoiding the risk of having insufficient capacity to store finished products before shipment. We have also gained the flexibility to plan shipments of large volumes of rolled steel for our key clients”. (MetalInfo/Ukrainian metal)
