MMK has finished the reconstruction of the blast furnace No. 1, commissioned in 1932.

The cost of the project, carried out in less than 6 months, totaled 5.4 billion rubles, including 2.35 billion rubles worth of machinery and the rest being construction and repair works.

The reconstruction of the BF1 and the construction of the exhaust system will decrease dust emission by 600 tons per year.

The BF1 produced its first pig iron on February 1, 1932. In late 1990s it was completely reconstructed, with its volume increasing to 1370 cubic meters and capacity to 3 thousand tons of pig iron per day, or 1.2 million tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)
