In February steel output in CIS dropped by 0.5 YoY, to 7.675 million tons.
According to World Steel Association, in January-February output decreased by 1%, to 16.165 million tons.
In February Russia produced 5.15 million tons of steel, down by 5.7% YoY, and 10.85 million tons in 2 months, down by 4.8%.
Ukraine in February produced 1.9 million tons of steel, up by 11.2%. In 2 months output grew by 4.9%.
Kazakhstan steel manufacture grew by 0.3%, to 315 thousand tons in February, but dropped by 2.1% in 2 months, to 665 thousand tons.
Belarus produced 210 thousand tons of steel in February and 440 thousand tons in January-February, up by 20% and by 31.3% respectively.
Uzbekistan steel output grew by 10%, to 55 thousand tons in February and by 13.9%, to 115 thousand tons in 2 months.
Moldova produced 45 thousand tons of steel in February as opposed to 50 thousand tons in January. Last February steel was not produced. (Ukrainian metal)
