On the eve of the holidays Paramjit Kahlon, CEO of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih announced an increase in the salaries for the company employees. This was communicated at the proximity meeting attended by the company managers on March 7.
The specialists of the company have already started to adjust the salaries within a grade so that to ensure internal pay equity. In parallel, they are developing a method for salary increase. Focus will be placed on each profession with priorities for those categories of employees whose salary is lower. As soon as internal revision of salaries is over, the management will announce the principles for increasing the salaries in 2018.
In any case, the salaries will be increased taking into consideration the labor market of Ukraine, inflation, production expenses, product cost, forecast of prices in the world markets of metal products and other factors that require analysis and taking of an informed decision.
Annual revision of salaries is a standard practice for PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih. This year salaries will be revised on the same dates as last year.
In addition to that, the company is proposing a significant social package to all employees. Such a package includes paid leaves, temporary incapacity leaves, medical insurance, treatment and recreation in the health centers of the company and Ukraine, financial assistance and benefits for employees and veterans of the company. In 2017 PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih spent 340 million UAH on social needs. In 2018 the sum of 390 million UAH was allocated for such purposes.
PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih remains one of the few mining and steel companies of Ukraine that consistently pays 13th salary to its employees. In March the company will pay rewards to its employees for the results of work performed over a year.
PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih affirms its interest in increasing the salaries for its employees. However, the company reminds that there are unequal competitive conditions on the labor market of Ukraine, at which the level of salaries is significantly lower than the level in Eastern European countries. It is a problem of not only an individual company, but of the Ukrainian industry as a whole. It is obvious, that demand to set the European level of salaries at the individual company of Kriviy Rih is a pressure on the company and manipulation of public opinion.
The management of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is taking all possible measures to provide maximum support to its employees during such difficult period of change for the steel industry of Ukraine. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
