In 2017 Russia imported 686 thousand tons of ferrous scrap from Kazakhstan, up 1.7-fold YoY.
This was also the highest volume of Kazakh scrap exports to Russia.
Scrap price on Russian-Kazakh border in December 2017 was $226.2 per ton, down by 5.7% MoM, but up by 42% YoY.
Some 45% of exports go to Chelyabinsk region, 32% is the share of Krasnodar region and 10% – Orenburg region. (Ukrainian metal)
