UniCredit Bank Austria sealed a deal with Belarus Iron and Steel Works (BMZ trademark) to open a 15 million euros credit line in 2018, Belarus’ Deputy Industry Minister Gennady Svidersky reported.
He drew attention to the fact that the reputable European bank would lend the money directly to the Belarusian-based enterprise. In the future, the loan can be increased to 20 million euros.
Gennady Svidersky also pointed to the long-standing cooperation between UniCredit Bank Austria and BMZ. BMZ has been rapidly augmenting the exports to European countries, including Austria where a Belarusian-Austrian joint company Belmet has been set up. Belarusian companies have been actively introducing new technologies and carrying out effective projects. BMZ is among them, the official underlined. A light-section mill has become operational at the plant. Its products have been successfully tested at Austrian metal processing companies. This will help boost the supplies of BMZ’s modern rolled steel products to Austria and Europe, in general.
“These are import substituting and export-oriented products,” Gennady Svidersky pointed out. (BelTA/Ukrainian metal)
