In December 2017 Russia produced 5.93 million tons of steel, down by 4.2% YoY (5.74 million tons in November 2017). In 2017 steel output totaled 71.34 million tons, up by 1.3% YoY.
Ukraine produced 2.06 million tons of steel in December 2017 (2 million tons in November 2017), down by 2.4% YoY and 24.218 million tons in 12 months, down by 6.4%.
In December 2017 Kazakhstan produced 360 thousand tons of steel, down by 3.5% YoY (350 thousand tons in November 2017), and 4.289 million tons in 12 months, up by 3.8% YoY.
Belarus increased steel output by 43.8% YoY, to 230 thousand tons in December 2017 (225 thousand tons), and by 8.5%, to 2.375 million tons in 12 months.
Uzbekistan produced 60 thousand tons of steel in December 2017, up by 33.3% YoY (same in November 2017), and 680 thousand tons in 2017, up by 4% YoY.
Moldova steel output grew by 323.1% YoY in December 2017, to 55 thousand tons (50 thousand tons in November 2017). In 12 months output increased by 261.1% YoY, to 455 thousand tons.
All in all in December 2017 CIS countries produced 8.695 million tons of steel, down by 1.1% YoY (8.425 million tons in November 2017), and 101.96 million tons in 2017 as opposed to 101.928 million tons in 2016. (Ukrainian metal)
