The world demand for aluminum in 2017 will grow by 5.9% YoY, to 63.1 million tons, because of the improvement on markets outside of China by 3.9%, to 29.3 million tons, and in China – by 7.7%, to 33.8 million tons.

According to Rusal forecasts, shortage will total 1.1 million tons of aluminum, up from 400 thousand tons in 2016.

In January-September Russian demand for aluminum grew by 17.5% YoY, mostly because of the revival of export and the growth of cable market. (Ukrainian metal)
