In July-September major steel companies of Russia – Severstal, NLMK, and MMK – increased output.
In particular, NLMK produced 12.6 million tons of steel in 9 months, up by 3% YoY, MMK – 9.6 million tons, up by 1.9%, while Severstal dropped steel output by 1%, to 8.6 million tons.
The reason of the increase is the growth of demand for slabs on behalf of pipe companies, the ongoing construction season and the correction of export prices. (Ukrainian metal)
