The Russian businessman Igor Shamis could become a new owner of KVV Liepajas metalurgs.

He wanted to acquire the works back in 2014, but lost to the Ukrainian KVV Group.

The Latvian Privatization Agency chairman Vladimir Loginov confirmed that the Cabinet of Ministers would decide on the new owner in October.
