Vyksa Iron and Steel Works has produced the first batch of high-speed wheels for Estonia.
The diameter of the wheels is 870-880 mm, and they are specifically built for the speed of 200 km per hour and will be used at the Stadler FLIRT passenger trains.
“Such wheels, just like any other products for high-speed railroad transportation, have increased requirements to manufacture. To fulfill this order we had to adjust the whole manufacturing process”, VMZ managing director Alexander Barykov noted. (Ukrainian metal)
