In January-August Ukraine produced 13.826 million tons of steel, down by 16% YoY.
Rolled metal output decreased by 18%, to 11.806 million tons, pig iron – by 20%, to 12.772 million tons.
At the same time pipe manufacture grew by 28%, to 691 thousand tons, while that of coke dropped by 21%, to 6.859 million tons.
In August Ukraine produced 1.924 million tons of steel, 1.61 million tons of rolled metal, 1.816 million tons of pig iron, 93.9 thousand tons of pipes and 916 thousand tons of coke.
In 2016 steel output increased by 6% YoY, to 24.2 million tons, pig iron – by 8%, to 23.6 million tons, rolled metal – by 6%, to 21.4 million tons. Pipe manufacture dropped by 1%, to 849 thousand tons, but coke went up by 10%, to 12.723 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
