Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works is reorienting its manufacture to suit the demand and diversifies it under the conditions of the growing protectionism on the world steel markets.
“Previously it was a record to bring 10 new products to the market in a year, now we can start producing 2-3-fold more. In H1 we started manufacturing 11 new product types”, the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko said, adding that customers ordered metal specifically for their products.
“We have produced a trial batch of hot-rolled coils according to API Specification 5L. They will be used to produce electric-welded pipes”, Zinchenko said. “The batch was small – just 118 tons. But the positive feedback from the customer will allow us to work on the US market of rolled coils for oil and gas pipes”. (Ukrainian metal)
