ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is preparing for the overhaul of its steelsmelting mill in the open-hearth shop.

“At present the open-hearth shop operates only the steelsmelting mill No. 6. The shutting down and putting of the machinery out of operation started in 1993, the open-hearth furnace No. 4 was shut down in 2011. In view of extending the operation of the mill till 2020 it was decided to switch the mill to the straight-flow operation”, the company said in a statement.

All the works will be finished after two repairs. The second repair will be carried out in September. The project cost is 15 million UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
