Rosterminalugol JSC, the largest dedicated coal port in the Baltic region, a part of Russia’s largest coal port holding Port Management Company LLC, says it has loaded the largest batch of coal in the company history.
According to the terminal’s press center, 111,339 tons of coal delivered to the port in 1,560 wagons were loaded onto Rixta Oldendorff (Post-Panamax ship) on March 10.
The previous record of the company was achieved on September 18, 2016 when 108,872 tons of coal were loaded onto the Magsenger 6.
Larger shiploads let cargo owners decrease cargo transportation costs.
In 2016, throughput of Rosterminalugol grew by 3.4% YoY, to a record high result of 18 million tons (over 60% of coal transshipment in the ports of Russia’s Baltic Basin). (Portnews/Ukrainian metal)
