In January Magadan region mined 930.8 kg of gold, up by 223.8 kg YoY, and 60.4 tons of silver, down by 14.5 tons.
The decrease in silver output has been planned due to the industrial programs of the main silver-mining companies.
The leader of the winter gold mining was the Severo-Evensk city district with 382.8 kg, while the main silver-mining region was Omsukchansk district – 55.9 tons.
Tenkinsk city district mined 371 kg of gold, Omsukchansk – 155.2 kg, and Olsk – 15.7 kg.
The governor of the Magadan region Vladimir Pecheny noted that the trend in gold-mining increase had been observed in the region for the last 7 years.
“Last year we produced 27.9 tons of gold, and this year we intend to receive at least 30.5 tons”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
