Russian tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov’s Onexim Group is preparing to sell part of a 17.02% stake in aluminum giant UC RUSAL on the market, Bloomberg reported citing sources familiar with the situation.
Earlier Bloomberg reported citing sources that RUSAL was considering selling up to 20% of its new shares in London. The company sees good possibilities for a sale of new shares in London after their price increased and is holding talks with several banks, sources said.
In September 2016, Viktor Vekselberg, a co-owner of Sual Partners, which holds 15.8% in RUSAL, said the company was considering buying Onexim’s stake in RUSAL. Media reported that Vekselberg wanted to buy 12%, but the deal had not been completed.
Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska’s En+ Group holds 48.13% in RUSAL. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
