In 2016 thermal power plants and steam power plants increased coal consumption by 9.4% YoY, or by 2.7 million tons, to 31.338 million tons.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, in December 2016 coal consumption increased by 22.3% YoY, or by 575.1 thousand tons, to 3.151 million tons.
In 2015 TPPs and SPPs of Ukraine decreased coal consumption by 17.6%, or by 6.127 million tons, to 28.637 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
