Gold and silver output exceeded the KAZ Minerals expectations in 2016.
“Copper cathodes output increased by 73% YoY. We’ve been increasing output at Bozshakol GOK and will continue this trend in 2017 as the works reaches is project capacity, as well as the copper concentrate is produced at Aktogay”, the KAZ Minerals chairman Oleg Novachuk said.
Last year the group produced 75.7 thousand tons of zinc, exceeding the annual target of 70-75 thousand tons.
Gold and silver output also showed good results.
“The increase in gold and silver output was mostly due to the higher content in ore”, the company noted. (Ukrainian metal)
