Metinvest has started cooperation with Unisteel that has been idle for 4 years. The company will produce flat galvanized rolled metal to decrease the import share on the Ukrainian market.
Soon Metinvest will start selling rolled metal produced at Unisteel.
“Mariupol Ilyich has sent its first thousand tons of semi-finished rolled products to Unisteel”, Metinvest-SMC CEO Dmitry Lippa said.
According to Rauta Group director Andrei Ozeychuk, in 2016 Ukraine will produce 170 thousand tons of galvanized rolled metal, up by 14.8% YoY, and import some 107 thousand tons, up by 20.2% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
